We are sad to report that due to large-scale renovations, the high school auditorium will be unavailable to us this Summer. Over these many months, we have been searching to find another venue for our program and performances throughout the County, but without success. Therefore, sadly, the Collaborative will not go on this Summer. However, we will be back next Summer!
For those of you who are new to 3sPA, the Summer Youth Theater Collaborative is our thrilling 4-week program for teens 14 and up. The program meets 5 days a week, 6 hours a day, typically from early July through early August. The program culminates in a fully-realized stage production of Thoroughly Modern Millie with performances on August 4th, 5th at 7pm and August 6th at 1pm.
The Summer Youth Theater Collaborative is made up of two components - the Performance Program and the Internship Program. These Programs successfully worked together to mount our productions.
In the Performance Program for actors, enrolled participants learn and review musical numbers, work on character development and blocking as the show shapes up day by day, and week by week. Musical direction is extremely rigorous and will yield astounding results and truly boost vocal confidence. Direction, character development work, and exciting theater exercises offer art-enhancing breakthroughs that participants will not soon forget as they continue to hone their skills in performance. Continue below for information about the Internship Program.
In the Internship Program, interns work hand-in-hand with program leaders and coordinators to learn about the many facets of theater, including costuming, creating and locating props for actors, musical direction, stage management, set creative, and producing. These internships introduce students to skills in leadership, creativity, and management, all vital tools needed in the theater trade, and great skills to develop for any career.
The internship program is open to students 17 years and older, and is a great opportunity for theater-loving young men and women to gain great experience in theater production.
We look forward to bringing you a most memorable summer theatrical experience! Thank you for your patronage.
